SoloPoint Attends Design2Part Show

On May 22nd and 23rd, the SoloPoint Solutions crew ventured out to attend the Design2Part show held at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The Design2Part show is a trade show held throughout the country that invites manufacturing suppliers to network and present their products to the engineering world.

Other than networking with the best design and manufacturing engineers in the business, one of the many perks of attending the Design2Part show is getting a first-hand look at the latest technology in the different engineering industry.

In this year’s D2P show, the SoloPoint team were able to see exhibits on the latest trends in injection molding, laser and engraving machines, and they even got to confer with design engineers on what the best CAD softwares are in the business.

Among the many products they’ve seen is the Afinia 3-D printer.

This product allows engineers to print prototypes of their designs from their own desks.

With a price of $1,600, this Afinia 3D printer can print 5″x5″x5″ objects to .006 of an inch using an ABS filament. It also comes with its own 3D design software, however, this printer can print designs from professional softwares such as Solidworks, AutoCAD or SketchUp Pro by importing it as an STL file.
